Technical
Mountain Skills

The course is the next step in alpine mountaineering.

It is suitable for people with some prior experience in rock climbing, hiking in the mountains and/or crampon and ice axe use, who are looking for an introduction to technical alpine skills.

Our instructors are experienced and will provide you with a solid grounding to increase your level of skill and knowledge. All of our Alpine instructors have New Zealand Outdoor Instructors Association (NZOIA) qualifications and our instructor to client ratio is kept at a maximum of 1:2

NOTE: this course teaches you technical mountaineering skills, including the alpine climbing skills needed to summit the Remarkables peaks and navigate it’s exposed ridges. It is suitable for people with some basic alpine or rock climbing experience already. For novices and beginners, we offer an Introduction to Winter Mountaineering Course.
